I received this email from a former member of the Northwood Wheelers, Alan Grive. Alan first contacted me a couple of months ago, having stumbled across these pages while Googling the web. he promised to unearth some photos for these pages...

Alan writes: “I made it a point of honour to get up in the loft and find the originals - a bit faded and crumpled like me but there we are. Note the 1950's style - no bright coloured clothing - no gear change - all fixed wheel and head down and go like the clappers. It was really great fun and wonderful comradeship. Note the walking race during the winter season to keep in shape. That's Alan Tunaley next to me and I do believe a real girl - who were very few and far between at that time.
